Call for papers is out and submission starts for the international conference “Investigating Childhood Inequalities”, 20–21 November 2019, Paris.

Presentation

The AISLF network of Sociology of Childhood, the CERLIS-Paris Descartes University, and the Ministry of Culture (Department of Studies, Foresight and Statistics)  join forces to organize an international conference on "Investigating childhood inequalities". This conference will constitute the 14th Sociology of childhood Days and will take place at the Sorbonne University (Paris), on November 20-22, 2019, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the International Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Bilingual (french and english) and open to all social sciences, this conference aims to be a place for reflection and exchange on the renewal of approaches and issues concerning inequalities in childhood and childhood. The issue of inequality has emerged at the forefront of both policy and academic discussions. The observation of the transformations of questioning–in terms of discrimination, and even in terms of diversity–informs us as much on the evolution of general concepts as on that of the conditions of childhood.
